Dismantling of a pressurizer in the Swedish nuclear power plant Ringhals for Vattenfall in cooperation with EBS.

Contamination inside the pressurizer

• Wall thickness 120 mm

First cut - 100 mm

20 mm wall thickness remains. As the pressurizer remains tight, there is no risk of contamination. As it is not yet completely cut through, the work can be carried out under normal conditions.  

Second cut - 20 mm

During the second cut, the machine is controlled via cameras. Due to our cutting concept and the negative pressure within the pressurizer, there was no contamination outside the pressurizer.
